Tinder is a great place to find a date, but sometimes picking a place to go can be daunting. But don’t worry, we’ve found the perfect places for you and your honey to check out here in Austin. So no matter what they’re interested in, we have somewhere that both of you will absolutely adore. Happy dating Austinites!

1.  A Quick Service Restaurant

Austin is a great place for food, but also for Tinder dates! But if you’re going to take someone on a date, maybe stick with a more fast-food-type restaurant so that if your date sucks, you don’t have to stay for long. For example, you can eat at Torchy’s Tacos in under 30 minutes – a perfect amount of time to get great food but also dash if you need to.

2. Pinballz Arcade

Pinballz is great for a nerdy date. There are literally hundreds of different pinball machines, so you and your boo will have a ton of options to geek out over. Plus, if your date is a creep and you want to get away from them to breathe, Pinballz is basically a big maze, so you can easily hide!

Seriously, any pinball machine you want to play is here

3. Mozart’s Coffee Roasters

Mozart’s is a great date spot, period. It’s romantic, it’s quiet, and it’s a great place to get to know someone more. Take your date at night because the trees around the coffee shop are full of lights and make the atmosphere even more magical! It’s a cheap place to really impress a date.

4. Zilker Park

Zilker Park is one of the most wonderful places in Austin primarily because it has so much to offer. If you and your date are quieter, maybe take a walk on the greenbelt. If you’re energetic, play frisbee out in the big fields. If you get hot, take a dip at Barton Springs. No matter what your date is interested in, you can find something to do at the massive park.

5. Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary

Austin Zoo is an under-appreciated part of Austin culture that will delight your date’s inner child. You’ll have a blast watching your date’s face light up at the animals, and you’ll get to support an awesome organization. Be ready to drive though, the zoo is a short trip outside of the city.

Your date will be incomplete without a tiger!

6. South Congress

South Congress is a great place to take a date if you just want to wander for a few hours. There is so much to explore – from candy shops to pizza joints to costume emporiums. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon and avoid getting bored.

7. Amy’s Ice Creams

Amy’s is another perfect spot for a Tinder date because of how quickly you can get in and out. But it’s special because of how fun it is – the employees are hyper-energetic and the ice cream is so much better than anything you’ve ever tasted (including Blue Bell). For an even more special date, if your honey is an Austinite, they’ll be sure to tell you their stories of growing up going to Amy’s.

Seriously, no one is going to turn down an Amy’s date

8. Blanton Museum of Art

The Blanton Museum of Art is probably the best museum in Austin, so drag your date there for a cultural afternoon. There are discounts for any student and UT students get in free, so don’t worry about spending a lot of your money. Plus, the museum is fairly quiet, so don’t feel pressured to make awkward small talk with your date.

9. Alamo Drafthouse

The Alamo Drafthouse is such a special kind of theatre, your date is almost guaranteed to love it. Treat yourself to queso or an alcoholic milkshake to make the night feel unique. Plus, if you don’t like your date, you won’t have to talk to them since you will be watching a movie!

10. Austin Animal Shelter

Visiting the animals at the Austin Animal Shelter is a great way to spend the afternoon. You get to play with dogs and cats and make the animals happy. If your date is into animals, they’ll probably be ecstatic to spend the afternoon with furry friends.

Who wouldn’t have a blast on the date if it involves kittens?
