What is Housing Scout?
Housing Scout is an apartment locator service (in addition to a real estate brokerage), which means we help renters find an apartment or house best suited to their needs. We work with over 4,700 apartment complexes, owners, and leasing companies around the Austin area. Our clients enjoy the security of knowing we will find them the absolute best deals. Our job is to narrow down the (often overwhelming) list of properties and escort you on the tour—providing you our expertise, and making the real estate hunt simpler and quicker.
Websites like Rent.com and Zillow only have about 40%-60% of what is actually out there in the real estate market. We have around 95%. This is because apartments must pay to be listed on those websites. (And many smaller apartment complexes are not listed.)
Apartments only pay us when we actually refer them a client and they enjoy working with us for that very reason. Since virtually every apartment complex in town enjoys our referral program, we are able to show everything to our clients in an unbiased manner. Best of all, our apartment locating services are free of charge. We are paid by the landlord or property manager once you have signed the lease—and often after you have moved in. You do not need to pay your real estate agent anything.
With more than 4,700 properties in our database, our clients have access to more data than anyone else. We constantly scour the market to find every available property for lease in Central Texas. Our clients search with the confidence that they have access to all the best deals.
Since we help so many tenants find apartments every year, properties often offer our clients exclusive deals. These deals can only be found on our website or through one of our more than 60 real estate agents.
Many other real estate brokerages have contractual listing agreements with landlords. This means they have a legal duty to put the landlord’s interests first. Housing Scout has ZERO listings! This means we are the most unbiased company in town and we always put the tenant’s interests first.
