Come one, come all! Alas, if you have not secured housing for the Fall, you’re in luck because there are still some bed spaces available at HillTop Apartments!
HillTop is one of the newest contemporary apartment complexes in West Campus as of Fall 2020. The building itself has a timeless, elegant look with red brick and steel. It is located at 915 West 24th St on the corner of 24th/San Gabriel, not far from campus and with quick access to Lamar and Mopac.
The complex has resort-style amenities, stylish furnishings, individual leases, right in the heart of West Campus. The prices for double occupancy start at $700, and other units start at $984/bed which is a great deal for all of the luxury amenities that you’re getting!
The community amenities include everything that you could want. There is a rooftop pool deck on the second floor which gets direct sunlight in the summer as there are no tall buildings blocking the sun – like many other complexes experience. There are study nooks on all 8-floors, and there is a much larger study lounge on the 2nd floor that can accommodate groups.
The complex offers on-site garage parking for only $150/month, which is the typical market rate for parking in West Campus, and VIP parking for $175/month which is an assigned spot near the elevators. If you have a bike, bicycle racks are available in the garage as well for no extra charge. There will be a coffee bar downstairs for your convenience and 24/7 controlled access for the safety of the complex.
For individual apartments, there are spacious walk-in closets, private bathrooms, and stainless-steel appliances including a giant microwave in every unit. The flooring is hardwood style and the kitchen has quartz countertops with a white tile backsplash. Every apartment comes furnished already and depending on the floorplan that you choose, you will receive a slightly different furniture package for the living room space.
Apartments are leased by the bed, so even if you don’t have any roommates in mind, HillTop can roommate match you and you’ll only ever be responsible for paying your individual room rent. There are double occupancy and SMART Housing options available.
As far as pets, HillTop welcomes them with open arms. They will require a pet interview to ensure that your animal is not aggressive and won’t be an issue for the community. Up to 2 pets are allowed per apartment, and there is a $400 non-refundable pet fee along with $20/month pet rent per pet.
Let’s highlight some other cool features! There is a stylish brown leather chair that is very comfortable in some of the floor plans. It is included in the Brazos-A, Frio-B;C, Red River-A, Colorado-A;B;D, Barton Springs-A, and Guadalupe so if you’re able to get a unit that has one, you ought to feel chic.
In addition to the pool deck already being ideal for tanning, there is also a massive flat screen on the side of the building, so you can swim and watch UT football at the same time.
Right across the street, there is a Fresh Plus market that has organic produce, groceries, and a wine/beer selection. Another block away at 25th/San Gabriel there is the 24-hour Orange Market which has free coffee all day, groceries, wines, and craft beers.
The best part is…
there is a full restaurant and bar on-site!!! Few of you will remember the restaurant, Freedman’s, that used to be in the historic building that the HillTop complex is built around – but this historic building is over 120 years old and is protected as a piece of history. The building is going to be taken over and made into a barbeque restaurant and full bar with specialty cocktails.
