This week we wanted to shift the attention of the limelight onto our furry little family members at home: our pets.
I will be focusing on pet-friendly housing in Austin, and highlighting some of the properties in town that have the least breed restrictions, number-of-pet restrictions, and more. I hope you will find this to be a useful resource.
We all know that being a pet owner can be difficult as it is, so why not allow me to make life a whole lot easier for you?
Please be sure to double-check with the complexes themselves before signing to make sure that their pet policies have not changed.
Roscoe Properties
It’s hard to throw a stone and not hit a property managed by Roscoe Properties. With over 50 properties located around the city in North, Central, and South Austin, Roscoe is a great option for animal lovers.
They have been long committed to the pet-friendly atmosphere of Austin and its residents. This is a quote taken directly from their website:
“Every animal deserves a loving home and a loving family. Roscoe Properties in partnership with the Austin Humane Society can help each animal achieve their dream. With locations throughout the Austin area the perfect home is just around the corner. We do not have weight limits, breed restrictions, or minimum age requirements.“
Roscoe Properties has been partnered with the Austin Humane Society for a long time now. Some Roscoe properties offer animal lovers 1/2 off their pet deposit and pet fee when they adopt from Austin Humane Society.
Here are Roscoe Properties’s animal qualification requirements:
- No more than 2 pets are allowed per apartment
- Current vaccination record and evidence of being spayed/neutered
- $300 deposit per pet, plus $15/month pet rent
- Dogs, cats, small birds, and a fish aquarium not to exceed 20 gallons.
- Do not accept dogs that exhibit any type of aggressive behavior

Presidium Properties
Presidium offers three locations around Austin that are pet-friendly.
The Vue, The Solaris, and The Element each offer affordable homes for your furry buddies; no breed, weight, or age restrictions. However, there is a pet interview process.
Presidium offers 1/2 off pet deposits when the pet is adopted. Presidium believes that every animal deserves a loving family and a beautiful home.
Waterloo Flats Apartments
The Waterloo Flats Apartments are located at 1300 S. Pleasant Valley Rd, over in East Riverside, are not only one of the best deals in the city–but they are also one of the best homes for your pets!
Waterloo Flats has no breed, age, or weight restrictions. There is, however, a 2 pet maximum, pet rent, pet fee and a pet deposit required.
Gallery at Parkside
The Gallery at Parkside Apartments are located next to the Domain at 3000 Kramer Ln. They are luxury apartments in North Austin that offer no breed, weight, or age restrictions.
The Gallery at Parkside does have, however, a maximum of 2 pets allowed per unit; and there is a pet deposit and pet fee included. But, this is typical for most properties.
