Pet-Friendly Housing in West Campus

Let’s shift the limelight onto our furry little family members: our pets.

We’re going to focus on pet-friendly housing in West Campus, and highlighting some great properties with their breed restrictions, number-of-pet restrictions, along with any pricing information. If you have pets that you’re wanting to bring from home, or want to keep the option open to have pets after you move – be sure to ask your agent to check with property policies before touring!

We all know that being a pet owner can be demanding as is, so why not narrow your search in the beginning because these properties will welcome pets with open arms!

1. HillTop

HillTop is a newer complex in West Campus located on the corner of 24th and San Gabriel. They offer fully furnished units, great amenities such as study areas, a rooftop pool, gym, and an on-site restaurant and bar. It has reasonable prices and a classic, timeless look!

For the pets: HillTop allows up to 2 pets per apartment. There is a non-refundable $400 pet fee and a $20/month pet rent (per animal). They allow you to pay the total amount in 2 installments during your move-in and during the second month’s rent. They do conduct pet interviews to ensure that your pet does not display aggressive behavior but they do not have any explicit breed restrictions.

2. Axis West

Axis West is a complex located on 25th and Longview St. They have a media & gaming area, a café & study lounge, a resort-style pool, and even a dog park. The complex has a sophisticated look and many floorplans to choose from.

For the pets: Axis West has a non-refundable $300 pet fee and a $20/month pet rent (per animal). You will need to provide documentation for your animal.

3. 21 Rio & Texan 26

21 Rio and Texan 26 are different properties but they are managed by the same company. 21 Rio has a pool & sundeck, private balconies, amazing views, and an on-site convenience store! Texan 26 has a turfed courtyard, large kitchens, and private balconies also!

For the pets: The properties allow up to 2 pets per apartment. There is a non-refundable $350 pet fee and a $25/month pet rent. They do not have any specific breed restrictions, but only allow animals up to 35lbs. They do not require a pet interview, but they will require vaccination records and a picture of your animal to keep on file.

4. Skyloft

Skyloft apartments are located only 2 blocks from campus on 23rd and Nueces. They have multiple study rooms, a coffee bar, a Smart TV in every unit, a rooftop pool deck, and even a 24-hour vending machine! Skyloft is truly a luxury student living experience.

For the pets: Skyloft allows up to 2 pets per apartment. There is a weight limit of 65lbs and they do not allow any aggressive breeds. They don’t conduct interviews, but you will need to provide documentation and a picture. There is a $200 pet deposit, a $300 non-refundable fee, and $20/month pet rent (per animal).

5. Regents West

Regents West has two locations in West Campus, one of 24th St. and another on 26th St. They are almost identical to one another but they do have different color schemes! They have a 24-hour fitness center, sports lounge, rooftop terrace, and endless community activities.

For the pets: The properties allow up to 2 pets per apartment. They do not have any breed or weight restrictions and do not require an interview. They do not have a pet rent or deposit, only a one-time fee of $350 for 1 pet, or $500 for 2 pets.
